Banana and Sheep sweater (Banana yarn version) designed by Eri

Price range: € 18.20 through € 36.40 Incl. VAT

The Banana & Sheep sweater in Light Silky Banana exists in 2 versions: a long sleeve version and a short sleeve version.

The kit contains our Nomadnoos Light Silky Banana yarn in the chosen colourway: between 2 to 4 skeins depending on the size and version selected, without the pattern.

This modern boxy pullover is worked seamlessly from the top down and features elegant i-cord finishing details.

The knitting pattern is sold separately by Eri Shimizu

The Banana & Sheep sweater is a silky and lightweight pullover with a soft fluid drape, making it perfect for spring, cool summer evenings and transitional weather.

Designed by Eri Shimizu, Banana & Sheep is worked seamlessly from the top down. The front and back are knitted separately at first, then joined at the underarm and continued in the round. Sleeves are picked up directly around the arm opening for a clean and elegant finish.

The design allows different finishing options, with a choice between plain or ribbed edges for the neckline and hem, both completed with delicate i-cord details.

Knitted in our Nomadnoos Light Silky Banana yarn, the sweater develops a smooth and silky texture with a touch similar to viscose, while remaining entirely plant-based. The banana fibre gives the knit a subtle sheen, breathable comfort and a beautiful natural movement.

Our Light Silky Banana yarn is artisanally spun in Nepal from banana fibre, transforming agricultural waste into an exceptionally soft and luxurious yarn.

Description

Banana Yarn Sweater Kit — Banana & Sheep

The Banana & Sheep banana yarn sweater kit is a lightweight and silky knitting project designed by Eri Shimizu. Worked seamlessly from the top down, this modern boxy pullover is perfect for spring, summer evenings and transitional weather.

Knitted with our Nomadnoos Light Silky Banana yarn, the sweater develops a fluid drape and soft texture with a touch similar to viscose. At the same time, it remains entirely plant-based and breathable. As a result, the finished garment feels elegant, light and comfortable directly on the skin.

A lightweight banana yarn sweater kit

Banana & Sheep is constructed by knitting the front and back separately before joining them in the round at the underarm. Afterwards, sleeves are picked up directly around the arm opening for a clean and elegant finish.

Additionally, the design includes different finishing options, allowing you to choose between plain or ribbed neckline and hem details. Both versions are completed with delicate i-cord edges, which create a refined and modern look.

This banana yarn sweater kit is available in:

  • long sleeve version
  • short sleeve version

Light Silky Banana yarn

Our Light Silky Banana yarn is artisanally spun in Nepal using banana fibre sourced from agricultural waste. Therefore, the yarn combines a luxurious handfeel with a lower-impact natural fibre approach.

Furthermore, the yarn has a subtle sheen and fluid movement, making it ideal for lightweight garments and elegant everyday knitwear. Because of its breathable structure, it works particularly well for sweaters worn across multiple seasons.

The kit contains the required quantity of Light Silky Banana yarn in your selected colourway, depending on the size and sleeve option chosen. However, the knitting pattern is sold separately by Eri Shimizu.
