Lagun means “friend” in bask language—and that’s exactly the spirit behind this charming design by Erika from Loareknits. When she first envisioned this kerchief, she imagined making two from one luxurious skein of Nomadnoos High Mountain Yak: one for herself, and one for a dear friend.

She started with a simple version to test the yardage, then added a playful twist with slip stitches and bobbles. But she didn’t stop there—the pattern also includes instructions to turn your kerchief into a larger shawlette or even a full shawl, so you can use every bit of yarn, whether it’s leftover or fresh off the skein.
